The_DriftersThe Drifters:  Saturday Night at the Movies” / (2:34 minutes)

Recorded in 1960. I particularly like this video of the song because it is a karaoke version, so you see the words and sing along. Cool.

Paul_Anka_1961Paul Anka:  Lonely Boy” / (2:30 minutes)

Recorded in 1959. A heartthrob from a while back, ladies. I can actually remember watching this … yikes. Paul Anka was actually Canadian, born in Ottawa in 1941. Family name was Ankain.

The Kinks were an English pop group formed by Ray Davies and his brother Dave in London in 1964. The group’s fourth single, “All Day and All of the Night”, an original hard rock tune, was released in October 1964, reaching number 2 in the United Kingdom, and number 7 in the United States. They last performed as a group in 1996. There was always some gritty, or “earthy” about them.

The_SeekersI’ll Never Find Another You: The Seekers /  (2:03 minutes)

This Australian group brings back memories of their fresh style of music from the early 60s. They recorded this song in November 1964. In February 1965, it reached No. 1 in the UK and Australia, and No. 4 in the United States. “I’ll Never Find Another You” was the second biggest selling single in the UK for 1965 and went on to sell 1.75 million copies worldwide. They broke up in 1968.
