So maybe it’s an age thing, or maybe I’m not as smart as I thought (no comments please !!)
I’ve told you about our Facebook Page before. I know … you’re tired of hearing about it. But bear with me.
This has got to be the most complicated “software” out there. Yes, it’s easy to set up a page in the first instance I agree. And it’s easy to add new articles and so forth. However, if you want to spread the word about your Page, so to speak – like having 600 drunken teenagers show up uninvited to an intimate party at your house – you need a Bachelor of Science degree from Princeton, or Oxford, or Pakistan …. Yes, I digress………
I remember when I was in my teens I saw an advert that said, “For £25, you can get a B.Sc. degree from Karachi University.” Honest. I was tempted, but thought that when push came to push, any test of my knowledge of the sciences would fall short. I reckoned I couldn’t “BS my BSc” too much, if at all.
I now wish I had bought it.
How much easier it would have been to send an e-mail to IT people with a B.Sc. (Honours – hey, why not) in my Signature. I am certain that when those clever folks saw who I was, they would treat me with the respect I would have thoroughly deserved.
As it happens though, because I don’t have the degree, I am classified as “another twit-wit” in the social media world. Karachi could have changed my life entirely. Shame really.
Anyhoo, back to Facebook … nah, you’re fed up listening to it and I’m fed up talking about it.
What else this week, I hear your desperation to know….?
I have family coming here this weekend from Scotland for a week. My cousin. He hasn’t been here before, so he’s all excited (me too). He’s 4 years younger than me, and we‘re very close. He’s a good lad. Big football man (Ok, ok soccer !!!). So, next week could be a challenge to keep up with the blog and Facebook (oops, that word again) stuff.
I wish I’d bought a “B.A. Telepathy” degree as well – then I could write my articles in my sleep. Probably, given my warbling on and on, most of you think that’s how I do them anyway. You could be right. But alas, I ain’t that smart !!
Quote of the week :-
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I’m not too sure
