Olderhood Launches Retirement Coaching Business by Robin Trimingham
This week I am going to take a few moments to share some of the business developments that have been taking place at Olderhood.
After three years of hard work and a tremendous outpouring of encouragement from around the globe, Olderhood is becoming a proper company.
Bill and I will be sharing more formal announcements in the weeks ahead, but to give you the “inside scoop”, we are officially going into the retirement coaching and lifestyle planning business.
“What’s new about that?” you ask.
Truthfully, not much from the perspective that we have been your unofficial lifestyle gurus for quite some time, but what is new is that we will be offering proper courses, coaching and retirement readiness assessments, AND these things will be available no matter where you live.
I’ve just become a Certified Retirement Coach and I will be using a well-tested assessment tool that has been in existence for over 20 years in the States and is recognized as the leading assessment facility in the world. We will also be creating an Elite Club for a small annual fee which will provide special information, exclusive videos, special offers and product discounts. We are very excited about this development and the private feedback we have received in test-mode has been especially encouraging.
In preparation for this, I have taken the career plunge and made Olderhood my fulltime mission. It would be very wrong to say that I have retired because I have not been this busy in quite some time; but it might be fair to say that we have found a way to turn our passion into a fulltime joint venture.
I have to admit I am still a little stunned to be writing this as it seemed such a distant dream for so long, but I guess this is living proof that anything is possible if you want it badly enough.
I am sure that there will be some bumps and bruises along the way, and more than one funny “how could we be so dumb” story for the blog. But that’s the fun of doing something entirely new – knowing that making mistakes is not only allowed, it’s absolutely necessary in order to make real progress.
So, the take away here is, it does not matter how old you are or how far-fetched your big crazy dream is, it can happen. All you need is passion, positivity, practicality, and persistence.
Still looking for that really big dream? Not to worry – it is sitting right inside you waiting for an opportunity to come to the surface. Just push aside your fears, and doubts, and self judgement, and above all stop listening to anyone who says it can’t be done (particularly if they are a younger relative – what do they know!).
Just remember what Einstein said “the true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination”. And until next week … keep coloring!
